GUESTBOOK

I have been a Lost Boy
damned to never outgrow your skin.
Time had no meaning
with a dog for a nanny
here in your Neverland.

And I dug in.
Never thought to try and fly.
Just stalled in your quicksand.
I was the perfect
Peter Pan.

Played Wendy for a while.
Visited the Mermaid Lagoon
but I couldnt stay.
Couldn't stray
too far on your tether.

I fought it
Like Tink in a jar
in your hand.
I didn't want to be
your Peter Pan.

Second star
to the farthest right
I could reach.
I got a Found Boy
and all you feel is a Hook.

Bathe me
in Fairy dust
and some salve.
I won't be your
Peter Pan.

I found a garden of good thoughts
and I have flown
just as far as I can.
I'm no longer Peter Pan.

Bits of fire in the sky push me east back home. I used to live in flames but it's hard on the wings. Choke me. Smoke me. Scare me back. You try but you just can't. I peel the layers in my spare time, and you're easy to see through. I can fly, I've discovered on my own. I may be the lesser butterfly but my wings are just as strong. Who are you to tell me to find a place to land? I may be the lesser butterfly but baby watch me glide.
