READS RINGS |
By now, I'm sure you've all heard about the Vioxx recall. If not, watch TV, read the paper, or just check your mail. That's right, your mail. Pony Express, not electronic. Vioxx was prescribed to me a few months ago and I got the script filled, but I never took it. But, nonetheless, I am in Big Brother's computer at my local pharmacy as having been prescribed it, so when it was recalled, I received a form letter from them. Honestly, I didn't read it. I saw what it was about and, being that the 6 month old medication was still collecting dust on my microwave, I threw away the courtesy note. A couple of days later, I received a post card of sorts, inviting negatively affected people to participate in a class action lawsuit against the makers of Vioxx. I don't give a shit about these sorts off lawsuits--no amount of money is going to re-animate your Fen-Phen loved one, or correct a heart problem caused by some scantly tested medication. What disturbed me is that this post card was not adressed to me. It was simply electronically addressed to "Boxholder." What is wrong with this picture? |
