Declaration Do you know I love you when you run out to catch the bus and I don't get to say it in the grabbing-back pack rush? Do you know I love you when there's so much else to say... "Don't forget your math book. Just ignore her. Have a good day." Do you know I love you if our last exchange is a joke as you're in a crazy hurry because 'til the last minute you chose to poke. Do you know I love you when you burst out the door so mad for whatever I did that you didn't like, or the arguement we had. Do you know I love you when, so far, all I've done is yell. When I've had a rotten day and all I seem to do is give you hell. Do you know I love you? Is it a comfort while you're away when you're lonely or alone (there is a difference you know) or when sadness just won't go away. Do you know I love you when you get a bad grade and you hide it because you know I know you can do better, if only a shade. Do you know I love you when I don't seem to know you're around? When I'm talking to someone or watching tv or lost in a book that I've found. Do you know I love you when someone picks you up from school and tells you that I'm sick again so you're going to Granddad's--don't worry, it'll be cool. Do you know I love you even if I have to go and you grow up without me I will never stop loving you so. I'll be with you on your first date and when you go to prom. I'll be with you when you get married, when you become a Mom. Whether or not you'll see me is only a guess we can make but never worry that you'll lose me no matter what path you take. My love for you both crosses physical miles and other-worldly planes. I love you more than there are words to say and that will never change. For Sister Golden Hair and Strawberry Shortcake

Bits of fire in the sky push me east back home. I used to live in flames
but it's hard on the wings. Choke me. Smoke me. Scare me back. You try
but you just can't. I peel the layers in my spare time, and you're easy
to see through. I can fly, I've discovered on my own. I may be the lesser
butterfly but my wings are just as strong. Who are you to tell me to find
a place to land? I may be the lesser butterfly but baby watch me glide.
